A tank that drives itself. A drone that picks its own targets. A machine gun with facial recognition software. Sounds like science fiction? A.I. fueled weapons are already here.

Anyone Can Build With Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is often portrayed as a super-complicated, abstract concept that should be left to Silicon Valley to deal with. This is not the case; rather, it is a tool for the public good, a tool that everyone can put to use! Whether to make a self-playing game or to solve societal problems, you can build with AI. It’s not as scary as it looks. Beckett Hyde is a Colorado High School Junior who is passionate about everything related to computer science and artificial intelligence (AI). In his spare time, he builds AI driven programs and algorithms and occasionally codes an app or two. He’s especially interested in applying AI to finance and global markets, youth mental health and anxiety/depression, and online commerce. The message Beckett wants to spread is that AI is not something out of reach. Anyone, not just engineers at the big tech giants, can build with AI. All you need is a computer, some coding knowledge, and patience, and you too can do amazing things with this wonderfully powerful technology.
What are smart contracts?
Imagine a world where stacks of paper are no longer needed when you draw up a contract — any contract. Buying a new house, signing an employment contract, getting a new bank account — so many contracts, so little time. A smart contract negates the need for a middleman, sort of like the way Uber and Airbnb have taken away the intermediaries in their respective industries. Once mass adoption occurs, smart contracts will change the way we do admin-intensive tasks forever.

South Korea announces ambitious plan into robotics industry
South Korea recently announced a 300-million-dollar research and development plan for the robotics industry. It’s part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. But independent studies estimate 800 million people could be displaced globally by automation and the rise of artificial intelligence in the next decade. And as Joseph Kim reports, in a high-tech economy such as South Korea, the transition could be devastating to the workforce.
