We are on the brink of a technological revolution. The rapid development of quantum computing and the power that it will bring means we are on the cusp of solving problems that we cannot solve with classical computers. But what will happen to AI when the computational power behind it increases dramatically? We are already concerned about the impact of AI on jobs and people alike, so does the collision of AI and quantum computing have a dark side? After all, we are dealing with technology that has the capacity to replace the human race. How can we thrive once intelligence decouples from human consciousness?

Inside America’s Most Promising Artificial Intelligence Companies In 2022 | Forbes
The mad scramble to adopt Artificial Intelligence amid the Covid-19 crisis is officially old news. We interact with AI as seamlessly as we do our smartphones, through voice assistants, customer service, automated tasks, self-checkout, fraud detection, in healthcare decisions and infinitely more invisible applications that affect our daily lives. Investments in AI research and applications are set to hit $500 billion by 2024, according to research firm IDC. And PwC predicts AI will contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. With all that money flowing, it can be hard to figure out what the coming thing is, but certain trends do emerge.
Our fourth annual AI 50 list, produced in partnership with Sequoia Capital, recognizes standouts in privately-held North American companies making the most interesting and effective use of artificial technology. This year’s inductees reflect the booming VC interest as well as the growing variability in AI-focused startups making unique uses of existing technologies, others developing their own, and many simply enabling other companies to add AI to their business model.
OpenAI’s New AI Writes A Letter To Humanity!

Meta’s open-source new model OPT is GPT-3’s closest competitor!
We present Open Pre-trained Transformers (OPT), a suite of decoder-only pre-trained transformers ranging from 125M to 175B parameters, which we aim to fully and responsibly share with interested researchers. We show that OPT-175B is comparable to GPT-3, while requiring only 1/7th the carbon footprint to develop. We are also releasing our logbook detailing the infrastructure challenges we faced, along with code for experimenting with all of the released models.
Welcome to DeepMind: Embarking on one of the greatest adventures in scientific history
At DeepMind, we’re embarking on one of the greatest adventures in scientific history. Our mission is to solve intelligence, to advance science and benefit humanity.
To make this possible, we bring together scientists, designers, engineers, ethicists, and more, to research and build safe artificial intelligence systems that can help transform society for the better.
By combining creative thinking with our dedicated, scientific approach, we’re unlocking new ways of solving complex problems and working to develop a more general and capable problem-solving system, known as artificial general intelligence (AGI). Guided by safety and ethics, this invention could help society find answers to some of the most important challenges facing society today.
We regularly partner with academia and nonprofit organisations, and our technologies are used across Google devices by millions of people every day. From solving a 50-year-old grand challenge in biology with AlphaFold and synthesising voices with WaveNet, to mastering complex games with AlphaZero and preserving wildlife in the Serengeti, our novel advances make a positive and lasting impact.
Incredible ideas thrive when diverse people join together. With headquarters in London and research labs in Paris, New York, Montreal, Edmonton, and Mountain View, CA, we’re always looking for great people from all walks of life to join our mission.
